Participation in Swiss Geoscience meeting, Bern 2025

Participation in Goldschmidt conference, Prague 2025

This year’s edition of the Swiss Geoscience meeting took place in BERN. During the session titled "Spectroscopic and Chemical Insights into the Effect of Fe(III) in LDHs on Selenite Immobilization", Jiaxing Ban from PSI presented his latest advancements in hydrotalcite function in Mg cement.

In his talk, he provided insights into the effect of Fe-incorporated LDHs on selenite sorption. He discussed how the surface chemistry of LDHs influences the selenite retention and calculated the detailed configuration geometry of the sorbed structure, highlighting their potential to support the applicable potential of low-carbon cement in the repository.

The excellently organized conference provided an ideal platform for experts in the field of geochemistry to exchange ideas, share research, and foster collaboration. We would like to extend our sincere thanks to the organizing team of the Swiss Geoscience meeting 2025, held at the University of Bern (Bern, Switzerland) on 5–6 December 2025, for their outstanding efforts in hosting this valuable and well-executed event.
