Participation at 11th International DTTG Workshop “Qualitative and Quantitative Analysis of Clays and Clay Minerals”

11th International DTTG Workshop “Qualitative and Quantitative Analysis of Clays and Clay Minerals”

Wolfgang Kurt Jan Zucha and Raphael Kuhn took part in this year’s DTTG workshop in Krakow (2025), where they exchanged ideas and deepened their expertise in the field of clay mineralogy.

Both doctoral students are conducting research on the interaction between MgO-based cements and clays. Wolfgang is focusing on Mg-hydroxyl-interlayered smectite (Mg-HIS), while Raphael is investigating the effects of MgO-based binders on the stabilization of clay minerals.

The course, led by leading experts in the field, offered valuable insights into current developments and the latest advances in clay mineralogy.
