Dr. Siham Mouhtadi

Dr. Siham Mouhtadi is a Postdoctoral Researcher at Empa – Swiss Federal Laborato-ries for Materials Science and Technology. Her research focuses on the porosity development of MgO-based cements and the role of carbonate phases, in particular Hydromagnesite and Nesquehonite, in influencing pore structure evolution.

She specializes in the application of proton nuclear magnetic resonance (¹H-NMR) relaxometry to study water-filled porosity, enabling the quantification of distinct water populations during cement hydration. Her work further investigates the evolution of internal relative humidity in MgO-based systems, providing insights into their hydration mechanisms and early-age performance.
